Law of the Day, we are committed to fostering a safe and informed society. As part of our commitment, we are excited to announce the Scholarship. We invite rising and current college students to share their innovative ideas on how communities can prevent drunk driving and promote safer roadways. One talented student will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to support their educational journey.

We hope this scholarship encourages students to think critically about the issue of impaired driving and how we can all contribute to safer communities. Our scholarship selection committee will evaluate submissions based on creativity, research, and actionable solutions.

How to Apply for the Scholarship?

To apply for this scholarship, students must write a compelling essay between 500 and 1,000 words answering the question: “What steps can we take to prevent intoxicated driving in our communities?” We encourage students to think outside the box, consider various perspectives, and propose practical solutions that could make a real difference.

Application Deadline: All essays and application materials must be submitted by December 15, 2024, through the Law of the Day website. Please note that we cannot respond to inquiries about the scholarship at this time. For detailed information, please refer to our scholarship page.

Eligibility Requirements

The Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who:

  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Are currently enrolled in or have been accepted to an accredited college, university, or graduate school in the United States
  • Agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions
  • Submit all required application materials, including the essay, proof of GPA, and proof of enrollment or acceptance

Steps to Apply

Applying for our scholarship is simple! Follow these steps to get started:

  • Review Eligibility: Make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria listed above.

  • Write Your Essay: Prepare a thoughtful essay that discusses the topic: “What steps can we take to prevent intoxicated driving in our communities?”

  • Complete the Application Form: Fill out the online application form available on our scholarship page.

  • Upload Required Documents: Attach a copy of your unofficial transcript, proof of enrollment or acceptance, and your scholarship essay.

  • Submit Your Application: Ensure all materials are submitted by December 15, 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application Evaluation and Notification Process

Our scholarship committee will carefully review each submitted application based on originality, thoughtfulness, and the practicality of proposed solutions. This process may take anywhere from one to three months, depending on the number of applications received.

Important: The committee will not respond to emails, phone calls, or other forms of communication regarding the status of applications. If we have any questions about your submission, we will reach out to you directly via phone or email.

Winner Announcement: The scholarship recipient will be announced on our website’s blog. After accepting the scholarship, the winner’s school will receive the financial support directly from Law of the Day.

Terms and Conditions

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or graduate school.
  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
  • Be a resident of the United States.
  • Maintain good academic standing.
  • Provide personal information including name, contact details, and proof of enrollment.
  • Write an original essay on the specified topic.

Ineligible Applicants Include:

  • Employees or children of employees of Law of the Day
  • Previous recipients of the “Making Our Roads Safer” Scholarship
  • Applicants who cannot participate in an interview if chosen
  • Applicants who submit the same essay for multiple scholarships

Privacy and Use of Information

Law of the Day values your privacy. Personal information provided during the application process will not be shared with third parties. We do, however, reserve the right to use the names and photos of scholarship winners in announcements, on our website, and in marketing materials. By submitting your application, you agree to these terms.
